About Alec Stoncius
A few years ago, Alec was hit on his motorcycle by a careless driver. Going through that experience—and seeing firsthand how one moment of negligence can upend a life—changed the way he looks at his work. Alec has helped people in all types of cases, from motor vehicle collisions to falls and other serious injuries caused by negligence. These experiences have inspired him to devote his practice to personal injury law and to helping clients rebuild their lives after an injury.
His practice focuses on personal injury, including car accidents, motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice, dog bites, and other negligence cases. He has supported and drafted multiple successful appellate briefs before the Nebraska Supreme Court and Nebraska Court of Appeals, helping to shape the law that protects injured Nebraskans. He has also supported successful settlement negotiations in a wide range of personal injury matters, working to secure fair results without forcing clients into unnecessary trials.
In the courtroom, he has served as research and support to the lead trial attorney in a Lancaster County jury trial, helping build the legal strategy and evidentiary record presented to the jury. He drafted a brief that successfully defeated a motion for summary judgment, creating important precedent in the area of debtor rights in Nebraska—protecting everyday people from overreaching collection efforts.
His work also extends beyond the courthouse. During the 2024 legislative session, he drafted and successfully passed legislation, including arguing before a legislative committee to advocate for stronger protections under Nebraska law. Whether in negotiations, in the courtroom, or at the Capitol, he is driven by one goal: to stand up for injured people and their families and to make the system work for them.
